Had an absolute blast at the Magic: The Gathering Prerelease event at Pandora's Deckbox! The new Hobbit-themed set was a lot of fun, but what really stood out was the incredible community.

Everyone was welcoming, patient, and genuinely excited to help each other enjoy the event. I saw experienced players taking the time to answer questions, explain interactions, and even slow down their games so younger and newer players could learn and participate comfortably. That kind of sportsmanship and kindness is something you don't always find, and it made the event special.

The atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish. Whether people were winning, losing, opening amazing cards, or getting completely outclassed by a lucky draw, everyone seemed to be having a great time and sharing in the excitement. It felt less like a tournament and more like a group of friends getting together to celebrate a hobby they love.

Huge credit to Pandora's Deckbox for fostering such a positive, friendly, and inclusive environment. Great staff, great players, and a great community. I can't wait for the next Prerelease!

After finishing a busy work week, I decided to reward myself with an MTG 'The Hobbit' Collector Booster. When I got to the store, I told the staff, "I can't take the pressure, you pick the pack for me!"

Apparently they chose wisely.

Inside was a Surge Foil The One Ring! The pull was incredible, but what made it even better was the reaction from everyone in the store. The staff and other players were genuinely excited and celebrated right along with me as we sleeved it up and put it in a top loader to transport home.

That's what makes this place special. Sure, you can buy cards anywhere, but you can't buy the community, friendliness, and excitement that this store creates. It's the kind of place where everyone enjoys each other's wins, whether it's a big game finish or an amazing pack opening.

Needless to say, my end-of-week treat worked out pretty well this time!
